MediaShoot Privacy Policy
Effective: October 7, 2026 · Applies to the MediaShoot Android app and the MediaShoot Windows app · Publisher: Signalsop
MediaShoot copies the photos on your phone to your own Windows computer. Your photos go from your phone to your computer and nowhere else. We do not run servers that receive, store, or see your photos.
What the app accesses
- Photos on your phone (permission "Photos and videos"): used only to find new photos and send them to the computer you paired. Photos are read when they are uploaded and are not copied anywhere else.
- Network state and local network: to find and reach your computer, and to tell you when it is not reachable.
- Notifications: to show sync status and "ready to delete" prompts.
- Start at boot and background activity: to keep syncing after a restart.
Where your data goes
- Photos are sent directly to your own computer over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The phone verifies your computer's certificate before sending.
- Photos are saved in a normal folder on your computer. You choose the folder. We have no access to it.
- Pairing information (your computer's address, a certificate fingerprint, and a device token) is stored on your phone and on your computer.
- Optional remote access: if you turn it on, the Windows app may ask your router (UPnP) to open a port so your phone can reach your computer away from home. The connection is still directly between your phone and your computer, with no relay server run by us.
What we collect
MediaShoot itself collects nothing. The apps have no accounts and contain no analytics, advertising, or tracking code of our own. We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not receive your photos, file names, or device identifiers. The only items outside our control are the platform services described below.
QR code scanning (Google Play services)
The Android app scans the pairing QR code with the code scanner provided by Google Play services (ML Kit). The camera image is processed on your phone and is not sent to us. Google's component may send limited diagnostic and device information, such as app information, performance metrics, and a generated session ID, to Google under Google's Privacy Policy and the ML Kit data disclosure. The scanner is only used while you pair.
Website and support email
- This website is static and hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this site.
- Support email: if you write to support@mediashoot.net, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply. We do not share them and keep them only as long as needed to help you.
- Store platforms: Google Play and the Microsoft Store provide us with aggregated statistics such as installs and crash reports, collected by those platforms under their own policies.
Deleting photos from your phone
Deleting photos from your phone is off by default. If you turn it on, MediaShoot only offers to delete a photo after your computer has confirmed it received an identical copy, and Android asks you to confirm each deletion batch.
Purchases
If paid features are added, purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment details.
Deleting your data
MediaShoot has no accounts and no servers that hold your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Everything is on your own devices and you delete it there:
- You control your photos: they are on your phone and your computer. To remove them, delete them there.
- Remove a paired phone from the Windows app's tray menu, or unpair in the Android app, to stop syncing.
- Uninstalling the apps stops all activity. The Windows uninstaller leaves your photos, settings, and certificate in place so you do not lose data. Delete the
%APPDATA%\PhotosUploaderfolder to remove them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR), you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your data protection authority. The only personal data we may hold is what you send us in a support email. Write to support@mediashoot.net and we will respond. We act as the controller for that data (Signalsop).
Children
MediaShoot is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we add features that change how data is handled (for example optional cloud storage, accounts, or diagnostics), we will update this policy and the app before those features are released, and any such feature will be clearly explained in the app.
