Help
Get MediaShoot running in about two minutes.
Getting started
- Install MediaShoot on your PC. Get the Windows app from the Windows app page. It runs in the system tray.
- Open the MediaShoot Android app on your phone and allow photo access when asked.
- Scan the QR code. On your PC, click the MediaShoot tray icon and choose Pair new phone. In the Android app tap Scan QR to pair and scan the code. The QR code is valid for 5 minutes.
After pairing, new photos you take are sent to your PC automatically whenever it is on the same Wi-Fi.
Do my photos go to the cloud?
No. Photos go directly from your phone to your own PC. We do not run servers that receive, store, or see your photos. See the privacy policy.
Where are my photos saved, and can I change the folder?
Photos are saved in a normal Windows folder, by default Pictures\PhotosUploader, organized by year and month, with their original names and dates. To change the folder, click the tray icon, choose Preferences, and set the photos folder. Photos already saved stay where they are.
Why are my photos not uploading?
Your PC must be on and on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. Guest networks and some VPNs block the connection. If the app says your PC is not reachable, check that MediaShoot is running in the tray. Photos taken meanwhile wait in a queue and upload when the PC is reachable again. The optional remote access setting in Preferences lets your phone reach your PC away from home through your own router.
Does MediaShoot delete photos from my phone?
Not by default. Deleting is an option you can turn on. When it is on, a photo is offered for deletion only after your PC has confirmed it has an identical copy, and Android asks you to confirm each batch. Photos you untick are kept.
How do I remove a paired phone?
On your PC, open the tray icon, choose Preferences, and remove the phone from the paired phones list. You can pair it again at any time by scanning a new QR code.
